After the trailer for the Jason Statham movie The Meg has gone out, people are going gaga over it. The biggest attraction is undoubtedly the Jason Statham versus a big prehistoric monster shark. The trailer of the movie gives us a glimpse of what to expect at the theaters, and it sure is going to be scary!

However, after going through every shark movie ever released, we already know that it would be terrifying, especially as it comes in 3D. But the movie makers weren’t satisfied with just that; they wanted to take it to the next level. By level, we mean Virtual reality level scary and it already confirmed that Megalodon would be present with you through the whole thing.

The project is developed by The Meg team, Discovery VR, and Samsung. The content is available for download through the Discovery VR app.

Discovery touts its creation as “Diving in open water, The Meg: Subversive VR Experience gives viewers a visceral view of the ocean depths that soon becomes an encounter with the massive 75ft Megalodon lurking in the water nearby.”

A 360-degree VR experience in the ocean itself would be breathtaking as there are so many elements that the developers can use to give the users a mesmerizing experience. And since they have decided to get the Megalodon onboard, it’s going to be a wild ride. From the official VR trailer, you can see how sharks and all sorts of other creatures making their way through the ocean.

If you have not understood the sheer size of the Megalodon, it is the LARGEST predator to live on earth, and it feasted on whales to sustain its large size.  Let that sink in and then think about what the developers can do with the Megalodon and VR is more immersive than watching a 3D movie. But it’s sure going to be fun as think about a scene where you swim side by side with the monster that made Jason Statham break a sweat.

The movie will be hitting the theatres on August 10, and there are special venues set up for experiencing the VR experience. Make sure to watch the movie and if you feel daring enough, go face to face with the Megalodon on VR!
