Microsoft will be soon releasing its new version of HoloLens “HoloLens 2” which is going to take on all the trends in augmented reality devices. Microsoft is planning to take its AR technology into the new level with the release of the next version of their augmented reality glasses which is basically a Hololens.

The new version of HoloLens is expected to release in April 2019.  It’s compact with the new features which make it unique from the existing AR devices. It’s hoping that this latest version of HoloLens will be a third generation HoloLens that would satisfy the users in its features.

The present HoloLens deals with the interaction with digital content like in a real world, while the newer version is expected to offer the same functionality but is expected to be smaller and less bulky. It is expected to be based on Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU.

From internal Microsoft documents by Thurrott the report says as follows: “The device, according to the documents, will be lighter, more comfortable to wear, and have significantly improved holographic displays. But most importantly, it will cost significantly less than the current version of the HoloLens.”  And from this report, it is said that the next HoloLens is known internally as Sydney.

Microsoft has also recently received $450 million from the US army for the augmented reality HoloLens headsets that could sell over 100,000  HoloLens headsets to the department of defense. This deal is considered to be the largest for augmented reality devices across the world. The description given to Bloomberg by the government stated that these glasses will be used to “increase lethality by enhancing the ability to detect, decide and engage before the enemy.”

From all the information it’s clear that Microsoft is planning big deals out of the release of next version of HoloLens and have taken a huge place in business related on augmented reality which no other companies have attained so far.
