Toshiba’s dynaEdge AR Glasses Will Use Atheer’s AR Software Platform

Augmented Reality platform has always really held some ground in the consumer market, but Toshiba and Atheer together announced a Windows-based AR platform for industrial and professional users.

Atheer already has some products on AR used in the industry, but this will be their first collaboration with Toshiba to build a completely new array of AR solutions.

Toshiba’s recently launched dynaEdge AR Smart Glasses packages together the new dynaEdge AR100 Head Mounted Display with a screen resolution of 640×360, quarter inch display and its dynaEdge DE-100 Mobile Mini PC.

The dynaEdge AR users will be able to use the touchless, gesture-based commands, contextual documentation, barcode scanning and step-by-step task flow provided by Atheer.

With the dimensions of 6.5 x 3.3 x 0.8 inches and weighing around 11 ounces, the dynaEdge DE100 only have basic buttons controls. The dynaEdge also includes a fingerprint sensor for fast and hassle-free secure access. It also features a removable battery and a battery charger included in the box.

Boasting an Intel Core M Processor with Graphics Intel HD Graphics and Wifi for connectivity, the dynaEdge AR runs on Windows 10 Pro with 6GB of RAM and a total Storage of 512GB. Prices of base model starting at $1,899. Toshiba has aimed it to professionals.

The AR glasses is just an attachment to any accessory. It also has a reinforced plastic shell case to protect it, out in the field when not in use. And in office, if you are not using the AR glasses the mini PC can also be connected to a regular monitor.

The Atheer AiR Enterprise AR solution by Atheer will also be at the user’s disposal. This will make the dynaEdge a single package solution to meet the enterprise demands which includes See-What-I-See video conference, POV capture using a built-in camera, step-by-step guidance, barcode scanner and work info display. It will also support seamless integration with other enterprise solutions and enterprise-grade security in every mode

Toshiba and Atheer’s collaboration in creating the dynaEdge will be a game changer in enterprise-grade AR solution market. This is because Toshiba has always managed to create high-quality mission-critical hardware while Atheer is synonymous with AR solutions.

The partnership between these two companies might lead to change in the rules of the AR game.
