Ever wanted to hold planets on the palm of your hands? AstroReality makes your dream come true, with the addition of a smartphone and AR of course. The company brings solar system mini with mini planet models where you can get information for each planet with use of AstroReality App!

To explain in detail, AstroReality is a company dedicated to developing AR tech to bring astronomical experiences to your smartphone. This time, they have done it again with 3-D printed miniature planets.

Basically, you can point your smartphone camera at these 3D miniature models, and it will turn your phone into a plane on which the planets rest, virtually. AstroReality isn’t new to the Astro-AR area as they are the same company behind the new “Earth Counterpart” and “Lunar” AR moon model.

The miniature models are 1.2 inches or 3 centimeters in diameter, which is fairly compact and the 3D printing gives them tons to detail even if it’s on a small area. The detailing is amazing, to say the least as you can spot specific trait features on planets like the Jupiter’s Great Red Spot or the Pluto’s heart.

You need to first install the app for enabling the experience. When the camera is aligned with a planet, the app will automatically recognize it to give you the entire experience. If you thought that the app could only simulate a virtual planet in space, there is more to it because the app gives you the complete experience by walking you through specific details like moons, sun and the satellites orbiting each planet.

Then there is the specification, as the app will show you the diameter of the planet, distance from the sun, etc. It goes the extra mile by even educating you on the different day cycles on each planet.

“The AR visualizations are based on real-time calculations of planetary orbits. The data and images used to make these are from NASA Science Solar System Exploration,” told Anna Palagi, a spokesperson for AstroReality.

The app operates in real time so that you can experience how even the position of the sun influences day and night cycles on earth as well as other planets. You can purchase the app as well as the whole set for a price of $129.
