Towards the end of 2016, the world experienced an emergence of two world beaters – PC VR Headsets called HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Since their inception into the technology market, they have indeed been seen as two heavyweights in their separate worlds. Their inception and quality have also left customers a much difficult task to do in choosing one above the other.
They are not just worthy competitors to each other but have succeeded in dividing the opinion of the world about which of them is better than the other. The HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift both share the same similarities here as they come with quality OLED displays. The resolution offered by both is 2,160 x 1,200 and a refresh rate of 90Hz. This means that each eye has a resolution of 1,080 x 1,200 pixel, which is a good product of an excellent experience.
DESIGN AND COMFORT
There is a slight difference between both of them in the area of design. As for comfort, both the HTC Vive headset and the Oculus Rift headset are very comfortable in their making and are lightweight. However, in terms of their design, the HTC Vive headset is slightly larger than the Oculus Rift headsets even though they share the same color.
Regarding the hardware offered, both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets offer an amazing gaming experience anywhere within your home. There is no real difference between them here because there are a lot of similarities in their backup technologies.
There was a wide gap between the two cost-wise. Even though they both entered the market on an almost similar note in terms of price, but later after their introduction, there was a slash in the cost of the Oculus headset. CONTROLS AND TRACKING
While there is Oculus Touch as the Oculus controller, there are Vive controllers for the HTC Vive. However, both the controllers are motion tracked and have almost the same function commands.
