HTC Introduces Vive Cosmos At CES 2019
With host of new features, the new HTC headset is claimed to be easy to set up and significantly more comfortable in its use as compared to its competitors.
The CES 2019 has barely started, and it is already an extravagant affair. The Consumer Electronics Show taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada right now has unveiled some pretty shimmering and sparkling innovations to kickstart the year. HTC took this opportunity to show off its leap into Virtual Reality (VR).
With the introduction of Vive Cosmos, HTC reveals a consumer-friendly headset which is, of course, VR-enabled and comes with all the features and more you expect out of a Virtual Reality headset today. It claims to be easy to set up and significantly more comfortable in its use as compared to its competitors.
HTC embraced the possibilities of Virtual Reality very early on in the game, and the Taiwanese company wishes to give consumers a healthy dose of VR with Vive Cosmos. VR headsets, as well as VR productions, have gained quite a lot of hype and interest in recent years. However, most companies such as Google, Samsung, and Oculus have experienced a less than overwhelming reception due to its expensive equipment and limited accessibility.

The General Manager of Vive Cosmos, Daniel O’Brien shared his expectations of a massive comeback of VR in 2019 saying, “Over 85 percent of VR intenders believe the ease of setup is a critical piece of decision making for what they want to purchase.”
O’Brien also went on to share the features of Vive Cosmos and highlighted its ease of setup and the comfort factor. This product does not require any kind of additional tracking equipment, provided that it has cameras on the outside. In addition to that, users can power Cosmos with a gaming laptop or a desktop PC. With its flip-up design, the company also revealed its plans to link Cosmos to smartphones.
Largely, HTC offered a few teasers of the gadget but left us wanting more. It is still unknown whether Cosmos will need cables or will be attached to a computer. The product is expected to come out this year. In addition to that, HTC also revealed a new VR headset ‘Netflix for VR’ that is all set to launch in 2019. With so many interesting technologies at the forefront, users will be spoilt for choice at the later part of 2019.
