This New AR App Eases The Bible Learning

A new smartphone app enables the Bible reciter to explore the written text as an animated illustration on their tabloids.

Multisensory learning has always been proved more successful when compared to unisensory learning. Mixing of both auditory and visual senses helps humans to remember for a prolonged period of time. The technique of visual learning is a very common thing these days and recently this method of learning has been amalgamated with the Missionary Bible.

The Book of Revelation contains many episodes that are often perplexing for the readers due to the use of prophetic language in the book. In a fresh introduction, the Adventist Church has introduced the brand new Missionary Bible which will aid the readers to visualize the scenes by the help of augmented reality.

A new smartphone application named the Apocalypse RA (Apple iTunes & Google Play) enables the Bible reciter to explore the written text as an animated illustration on their tabloids. This can be done by scanning the image of the Missionary Bible through the app. The fantastic app is available for both Android and iOS users. For instance, you can see an animated image of the seven angels with their trumpets around the Earth when you position your device on chapter 8 of Book of Revelation.

“Even though it is printed, we wanted to add digital content. And that helps understand the prophetic elements, such as a beast with seven heads and ten horns,” Carlos Magalhães, digital strategies manager for the Adventist Church in eight South American countries, affirms.

The application is effortlessly simple to use and it was instigated on the Adventist Church in South America on Sabbath morning to 222 participants at the Church’s Annual Council on 10th November. The application has been developed by keeping Bible teachers or volunteer evangelists in mind. The estimated cost of this Bible is kept at BR$ 8.00 or US$ 2.15. This freshly launched Missionary Bible will be available for both Portuguese and Spanish readers from next year i.e February 2019. The inaugural order for the AR amalgamated Bible was for 492,221 copies.

Everon Donato, Personal Ministries Director for the Adventist Church for eight countries in South America quoted that this new technology has made the Bible learning extremely simple and dynamic both for the instructor and the learner.
