KURA’s Gallium AR Glasses Aims to Revolutionize the AR Industry

KURA's AR glasses have the specifications that surpass any AR headset that is present in the market currently.

Kura Technology aims to bring positive impact in the society through AR. Intending to revolutionize the AR industry, they aim to build AR glasses.

These glasses would not just improve the overall performance of the glasses but also meet the requirements of their end clients.

The Kura Gallium has the specifications that surpass any AR headset that is present in the market currently. It has a display of 150 degrees field of view and a high resolution of 8K75 that can be adjusted for each eye because of the stream compression of VESA display.

Moreover, it has an eyepiece that is 95% transparent and structured waveguide. Additionally, its sensors with 6 DoF head-tracking and eye-tracking is also next level.

They have developed a series of four prototypes of the Kura Gallium. The first one is stationary but exemplified great optics with transparent lenses of 90%+ along with high-brightness, so they help make the objects look like they are in a real environment.

The second demo is also stationary but shows varied types of animations. The third one is a fully wearable AR device that was launched around eight months ago but had a high resolution of lenses and the camera view.

Finally, the last prototype is the closest to the final one and is the most advanced one with some touted features. It can adapt a focal distance from 10 cm to infinity.

But the exciting thing is that you never lose focus on the object even if it is at a range.

In the words of the CEO Kelly Peng, “This is purely software or integration test demo we built early on, not the optics we are going for a product. We used to make some giant reflectors optics 3-4 years ago, but since then totally moved away from that because of the size, contrast ratio, brightness issues.”
